Paul refers to calling in verses 1, 2, 9, 24, and 26

Verse 2 we're called to be saints

• Sanctified by Christ (set apart for holy service) (Exodus 28:14)
• Those who call upon the name of the Lord
• Consider your personal life, what type of things have you set apart as Holy, for specific service. In the same way God has set us apart

• Testimony of Jesus Christ is not an intellectual arguement, it must be confirmed in you
• We're enriched by hearing the word, as well as speaking the word, talking about Christ, talking to others Christ.
• this person will never have to worry about coming short in their gift (the person emersed in God's word!)

Verse 9 Blameless in the day of the Lord

• Sanctification is the work of God
• God's job is to position us for growth
• our Job is to grow, if we're not growing its not God's fault its our fault
• God is faithful! by whome we were called, we were not called by our pastor, or our friends, its Christ that did the calling
• Excersise: Consider life situation, who do you call and why during certain circumstances? God has called you for a special purpose and circumstance

Verse 10 Paul Begs/ Pleases

• That we speak the same thing
• that there be no divisions among us
• that we be joined together in the same mind and judgment (focus on the essentials, Christ and Him Crucified)

Consider our bad relationships (work, home, friends, family, associates, churches) What did we disagree with most? What could have been done to gain agreement? Could God be calling us to reconcilliation

Paul's Calling

• Not to baptize but to preach the Gospel
• Not with the wisdom of words
• it doesn't matter what we don't know, all we know to know is that Christ came into this world to save sinners of whom I am chief!

Recognizing Calling

• Comes natural
• Calling leads to opportunities to demonstrate the call
• confirmed by others we trust
• Restlessness in our spirit when a need arises in our area of calling that we can fulfill the need
